In the morning, we conducted various job application training sessions together with Ms. Wenger and Mr. Kramer from Raiffeisenbank Schrozberg-Rot am See eG. We learned what makes a good job application and what mistakes to avoid. It was particularly exciting that we were allowed to conduct a job interview ourselves. This gave us the opportunity to practice how to introduce ourselves properly, answer questions, and make a good impression. At the end, we were also given a booklet containing detailed explanations of all the important information relating to job applications. This booklet will certainly be a great help to us in the future.
At lunchtime, we also had the opportunity to learn a lot about the world of work from Mr. Metzner. Mr. Metzner had our class work together actively by setting us various tasks to complete. We lined up according to different categories, such as our interests or voluntary internships that some of us had already done. We found these tasks quite interesting, as they made us think more about our strengths and interests.
We also played games where we had to guess what professions certain celebrities had learned. This task was very exciting because you couldn't tell what profession a person had learned just by looking at them. This made us realize that first impressions are often deceiving and that there are many different paths in professional life.
Overall, the BOGY study day was very informative and varied. We learned a lot of new things about job applications and professions and gained important experience that will help us in our future career choices.
