On Friday, November 28, we—the J1 and J2 French classes—traveled to Stuttgart to see a performance of “Le Comte de Monte-Cristo” at the Wilhelma Theater. Even from the outside, the historic building conveyed a special atmosphere that perfectly matched the dramatic story of Edmond Dantès. Lighting, music, and quick scene changes created a tension that kept us captivated throughout the entire performance. The actors delivered compelling performances with strong emotions and clear character portrayals. In particular, the transformation from an innocent sailor into the mysterious count was impressively portrayed. Despite the French language, we were able to follow the plot well and had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the world of the novel. The theater visit was a valuable experience—linguistically challenging, rich in content, and a real highlight for us as a group.
