2026 Trip to Strasbourg with 10th Grade - Experiencing Democracy Up Close

  • News

On April 20, we set off early in the morning for Strasbourg. We were ready for an exciting day focused on Europe and politics. Once there, we were divided into two groups: While one group took a guided tour of the European Parliament and then had the chance to explore the city, the other group started with a simulation exercise right in the Parliament. Afterward, we switched groups.
In the end, it became clear just how complex the European legislative process is—even in a condensed version. Through our firsthand experience, we were able to grasp and understand democratic processes much better.
In addition to all the political insights, we were also captivated by the city itself: Strasbourg has a unique charm. We even tried out a French word or two along the way. It was an all-around successful field trip.
