On March 17, Schloss-Schule Kirchberg took part in the award ceremony for the stock market simulation game at Cinecity Crailsheim. After we had provided ourselves with snacks, we went to the cinema hall where we were warmly welcomed by the organizer, Sparkasse Schwäbisch Hall.
At the beginning, the organizer reported on the course and developments of this year's simulation game. Around 113,000 people nationwide took part in the simulation game. Participation in the Schwäbisch Hall district was again very high, with numerous teams of pupils and a total of 13 teachers.
This year's simulation game was particularly influenced by global political events, such as the election of Donald Trump as US president and the war in Ukraine. These factors created an even more dynamic market environment and made speculation more exciting. The DAX, for example, developed very positively and rose by an impressive 11.4% over the course of the match.
After the welcome, the award ceremony followed immediately - with great success for our school in the Schwäbisch Hall district:
1st place overall: team “Das Rasierschaum” (Sean B. and Robin G., class 8b/8a).
2nd place in the overall evaluation: Team “Ostblock Baddies” (Laura S. and Tabea F., J1)
3rd place in the sustainability evaluation: Team “The bad exchange carrots” (Ben G. and Jakob K.)
There was also a success among the teachers:
Ms. Schenk took 2nd place in Baden-Württemberg in the sustainability evaluation.
As a grand finale, a movie was shown before all participants took the shuttle bus back home. This year was once again a complete success and we look forward to next year with hope.
