School and boarding school costs

The Schloss-Schule is run by a non-profit foundation. As an independent school, it receives a partial subsidy from the state of Baden-Württemberg, which is calculated exclusively from the pure costs for teaching and learning materials of comparable state-run schools.

This income is used exclusively to cover the costs incurred in implementing our comprehensive educational program.

Different costs are incurred depending on whether admission to the Schloss-Schule is as a boarding student or as a local student.
The Income Tax Act allows 30% of the so-called school costs paid, up to a maximum of €5,000, to be claimed as special expenses (Section 10 (1) No. 9 EStG) on your tax return.

Difference between "external pupils", "pupils in the Castle School profile" and "boarding school pupils"

Pupils can attend our grammar school as "external pupils", as "pupils in the Schloss-Schul-Profil" and as "boarders". Boarding students also have the option of attending the neighboring public primary, secondary and intermediate schools.

The parental contribution for external pupils only covers the costs of teaching in the type and scope of state mainstream schools (including a class size of 30).
In contrast, the optional Schloss-Schul-Profil parental contribution also covers the costs of teaching in small classes (up to a maximum of 20 pupils) in addition to the above-mentioned costs for teaching.
The optional parental contribution for boarding school students also covers the costs for our support programs such as homework supervision, basic courses and support in study rooms, as well as the costs for breakfast and dinner, for the study groups, for weekend care and, of course, for accommodation and comprehensive day and night care, in addition to the services for students in the Schloss-Schul-Profil.
